Fly Me to the Moon

3.5/5 (50 min) G

Highly enjoyable, animated 3-D Imax lark that retells the tale of the Apollo 11 moon landing from the point of view of three adolescent flies that hitched a ride in 1969. Although it has been more than half a century since its introduction into mainstream cinema, 3-D has yet to shake its cheese factor, though, to the credit of director Ben Stassen, an Imax movie pioneer, the new digital process often works with popcorn-dropping effect. -- JIM SCHEMBRI
